NFA Transfer Process
Purchasing a suppressor or other NFA items involves a few key steps. Here’s a detailed guide to help you through the process:
Step 1: Place Your Order
You can either purchase your suppressor online or have us order it for you. If you buy it yourself, we charge a $150 NFA transfer and holding fee.
Step 2: Establish a Gun Trust (Optional but Recommended)
If you want to place your suppressor and other items in a trust, we recommend establishing a gun trust. We suggest using National Gun Trusts.
Step 3: Create Your ATF EFORM Account
Create an account on the ATF's eForms website at https://eforms.atf.gov/. This account will be used to submit your ATF Form 4 and track your application status. We are happy to help you with this step if you need. Make sure to keep track of your username and user pin as we will need this during the application process.
Step 4: Get Your Digital Fingerprints
Schedule an appointment with PrintScan to obtain a digital copy (.EFT File) of your fingerprints. To schedule an appointment, take the following steps on their site.
Click on “Schedule Appointment”.
Select “I don’t have a code”.
Select “ATF”.

Step 5: Obtain a Passport Photo
Have a passport photo taken, with a digital copy preferred. You can often do this at the same location when you get your fingerprints.
Step 6: Complete the Paperwork
Once your suppressor arrives at our store, we’ll schedule a 30-minute appointment for you to complete the required paperwork. Please bring the following:
Your driver's license
Your digital fingerprints and passport photo (email them to us ahead of time if possible)
A copy of your gun trust (if applicable)
A credit card for the $200 ATF tax stamp (paid to the ATF)
Your ATF eForms Pin and Username.
Step 7: Wait for Approval
The approval process can vary, taking anywhere from a few days to several months.
Step 8: Pick Up Your Suppressor
Once your approval comes through, we’ll notify you so you can pick up your new suppressor.
This guide is designed to make the process as smooth as possible, ensuring you have everything you need to get your suppressor or other NFA items legally and efficiently.
