Instruction & Fitting
A firearm that doesn't fit cannot be shot well. Instruction and fitting are the quiet half of the work, and where most of the satisfaction in a piece comes from.
We fit shotguns on a try-gun and on the pattern board; rifles with careful attention to length of pull, comb height, and ergonomics for prone, kneeling, and offhand. We coach the client through the specific shooting their piece is built for (sporting clays, mountain hunting, defensive work), and we put the lessons into ammunition selection and field practice.
For clients planning hunts in the West, we'll coordinate with guides and outfitters we trust, advise on caliber and load, and help build a kit that fits both the trip and the carry. Some of this work happens at the range; some of it happens around the kitchen table.
What this looks like
We watch you shoot, measure your dimensions, and learn what your last few shooting days looked like.
Stock dimensions adjusted on a try-gun. Pattern testing for shotguns. Iron sight setup or optic mounting for rifles.
Range work focused on the use case: clay games, mountain positions, or whatever the piece was bought for.
For clients heading to a hunt, we coordinate with outfitters and prepare a kit that arrives ready.
Instruction and fitting work at every level, from a first sporting gun to a long-owned rifle that's never quite felt right.
